A brownfield mixed development of 7 residential and 5 commercial units in Brick Lane, London.
The former TFL site lay beside and under the largest metal suspension bridge in London, with remaining brick arches from Victorian railways and substantial underground structures to overcome.
Working with our structural engineers we formulated a cost-effective foundation detail that worked within the safety restraints of building in close proximity to the overhead railway.
A two part raft foundation was installed with a four hour fire rated structure above complete with acoustic treatment, meeting all safety and planning requirements.
Residential units included two storey open plan with exposed brick & steelwork and full heat recovery with solar renewable energy.
